The First Bobby Hart Solo Album
You may only know the hit songs he wrote and produced for groups like The Monkees, Jay and the Americans or Little Anthony and the Imperials. Maybe you know him as part of the songwriting and preforming duo of Boyce and Hart with hits like I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight or Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows. Now you can hear how good Bobby Hart was as a solo artist with rerelease of his solo album. Don't expect the pop sounds that he has become known for. This is blue eyed soul music at its best. Included is a great booklet of photos, a recap of Bobby Hart's history and an interview with Mr. Hart by founder of 7A Records Iain Lee. Go to this Amazon link to buy it today http://www.amazon.com/First-Bobby-Hart-Solo-Album/dp/B017RMIMNA/ref=as_sl_pc_ss_til?tag=onmymind-20&linkCode=w01&linkId=ILMNO3F2XD6A4U26&creativeASIN=B017RMIMNA

Bringer of Light
I have an old College friend, Randy Wallace, who is the Pastor at Oak Ridge Baptist. Most of his life Randy liked to write and record his own music. I ran into him the other day and he told me that he is still doing it and his most recent album is Bringer of Light. Well I have listened to it and it is great. The music is positive adn uplifiting just like Randy himself. The cover is seen above in the screen capture. You can buy the CD and hear previews of some of the songs if you go to his record company site CDbaby.com.
Here what it says on the album notes. Many diverse styles are covered on this CD, ranging from Modern Country to Traditional Southern Gospel to Easy Listening and even Light Rock...but, beyond the styles is the optimistic message of hope and joy that are always evident in Randy's live performances.
This is Randy's fifth recording, and among his best. His first album, "Deliver the Young Musician," was mentioned in the book, "Vintage Vinyl:A Decade of Jesus Music," by Ken Scott.
Writing, singing, and playing about everyday things and situations and their deeper dimensions has always been Randy's forte, and in this collection of songs both old and new, it comes to the front once again. From the song for his wife ("Unvoiced Tribute") to his tribute to his parents ("The Moral"); from the contemporary Gospel feel of "His Hand" and the Van Morrison-like "God's Got a Hold on Me;" and the Jimmy Buffett-style "Believe in Yourself," all the way to the uptempo bluegrass "Gerald Brock Hill," this highly anticipated release will brighten your day and touch your heart.

Monkees Tribute to Julie Newmar Video for Valentines Day
Sometime ago I did a survey of what your favorite love song was from the Monkees. I have tried to figure out what to do with the information. In honor of Valentine's Day here is a Monkees tribute video for it.

Let's Meet At The Love Shack Again! Video of the week: The B-52's
I have never been a big fan of the B-52's. They were part of the 80's new wave move and I didn't get into that type of music back then. I did like their song "Love Shack." That was almost 20 years ago. Now members of that band are in their 50's and 60's. They are still preforming today and in this video the energy they still attack the song with should make bands whose members are in their 20's envious of their energy and talent. It almost makes me wish I was into that kind of music back then. Now here are...THE B-52'S!!!!

Beach Boys Holland
What would a 4th of July weekend be if we didn't hear from or at least discuss the Beach Boys. Over at Forgotten Hits Kent talks about the group from the years 1973-176 and what I consider their dumbest move yet. When they moved to Holland. At least they got a good song out of it.

Larry Norman and I Wish We'd All Been Ready
I said if I ever figured out how to make embedded music on this site that I would make the first one to be of Larry Norman's song I Wish We'd All Been Ready available. Well here it is. I would like to thank Kent of Forgotten Hits for pointing me in the direction of Divshare. However, I wasn't able to make that work with their free service and my funds are limited. This one with Google I think will work quite well for my finances.
