The Griswolds are on Vacation again. This time it is to visit their, finally, grown up son Rusty and his kids. You can see the short film at Homeaway.com. Personally I would rather take my chances with a cheap motel then rent my home out to strangers. But that's me.

I just saw this for sale on E-bay. a 1959 high school year book that the bids had going for over $45 whe I last looked. Why? Because if you look closely it is teh year book that has Mike "wool hat" Nesmith in it. A 1959 year book that will probably sell for over $50 just because it has a future Monkee in it. Wonder what onw with a Beatle in it would go for?

They're doing it again

Rhino did it before with Headquarters and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. and they are doing it again. But the specials are very limited. Here is what they had to say.
Monkees' fans have been waiting for this one, and at long last - it's here, and only here! We're proud to present an exclusive 3-CD boxed set of THE BIRDS, THE BEES, & THE MONKEES. This much-anticipated release finally blows the doors off the vault, offering an unprecedented perspective on this wildly diverse album.
This Rhino Handmade exclusive includes mono and stereo mixes of the original album on
individual discs, each expanded with rare and unreleased tracks. The third disc collects
more than two dozen unreleased tracks culled from the album's sprawling sessions. SPECIAL BONUS: The first 1000 orders will get a free 7" vinyl with acoustic versions of "St. Matthew" and "Lady's Baby."
Be one of the first 500 to order the Birds, the Bees and THE MONKEES and you'll also get a FREE vintage Monkees Poster from our vault. All you pay is the postage and we'll send you one of three designs picked randomly and shipped separately.

Davy Jones on the new Scooby Doo Movies
I was looking to see if there was a full episode of when Davy Jones appeared on Scooby Doo. All I could find was this clip of him singning on the show and he makes reference to the Monkees on it.

The Latest Late Night War
It doesn't seem that long ago that there was a late night war over the Tonight Show between Jay Leno and David Lettermen. Back then if someone had said it would happen again in 2010 that wouldn't be hard to believe. But this battle should have been between Conan O'Brian and Jimmy Kimmel. To see that Leno is still in the battle for me is hard to believe. To say that some are seeing Leno as the bad guy in this would have been even harder to believe in the first battle. Remember he seemed like the good guy in the first one.
Leno gave up the Tonight Show to host his own self titled show every night at 10pm. A bold move by him and NBC. A move that either way would make broadcasting history. Saddly it made history in a bad way. But Leno gave up the Tonight Show. Now he seems to want it back and the network wants him back. Conan wasn't told it was a temp job when he got it. If the only thing that has the network and the affiliates mad is that Leno is a bad lead in for the news then just cancel his show. He has done well enough over the years that he will be well off. Conan of course is too but in my opinion he has done nothing wrong. NBC has botched up their late nights now and Conan will just go to some other network and will be more competation for the Tonight Show.

Header Contest
I know this is short notice and can't afford to give much of a prize but I am holding a christmas header contest for most of my sites. They are Plastic Man Platitudes, On My Mind, Millie the Model, and Mail it to Team-Up. The rules are that you must include the characters and any phrases that are already on the current headers. You can ad more characters if you so wish. For example on Millie the model you can add Clicker and Chili etc. as long as Millie is there too. The header must also look like Christmas.
The specifics are that the size should be 706 pixels wide and 215 pixels high. AllI can say right now is that I will give you the coveted No-Prize as I pick up where Stan "the Man" Lee left off. Also if you have a site I will give a link to it. Any entries will be post on the sites but the deadline is short so I will understand if there is little or no involvememt. It must be entered by 12/11/09. That way they can be up for a while to all enjoy. Good luck and Merry Christmas.
Oh also you don't have to enter for each site. However I am hoping to get some for On My Mind and Millie the Model. Email me any entires that you have.
